New shot blasting speed up production of side plates by replacing tumbling and washing processes

Lapua Chains have been testing a new shot blasting machine that is located directly after side plate pressing. This is a part of larger lay-out change in our production that we do to make production flow more efficient. Shot blasting is removing remains from rolling and pressing processes and also removing sharp edges. With this machine we are able to replace both tumbling and washing processes.

The experiences from the first months have been very good and consequently we are going to invest in at least one more upcoming season. The result from the shot blasting is better than older techniques and give also a better result from the laser marking of our chains. This make it  easier to our customers to confirm that a chain is from Lapua.
